Refunds, Reversals & Limits

Refunds in 3PAY

Refunds in 3PAY are operational refunds, not blockchain reversals.

Refundable scenarios

3PAY can assist with refunds in the following scenario:

  • A payment was sent to a previously issued invoice
  • The invoice is no longer active or was sent by mistake
  • Funds were received by a 3PAY-controlled invoice address

In these cases:

  • The payment can be identified
  • The transaction hash is available
  • Funds are recoverable at the operational level
  • A refund may be processed after review

Refund eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Non-refundable / non-reversible scenarios

3PAY cannot refund or reverse the following transactions:

❌ Payments sent to third-party wallets

  • Payments sent directly to external wallets
  • Withdrawals or payouts executed on-chain
  • Auto-withdrawals and auto-payouts

Once funds leave 3PAY and are broadcasted to the blockchain, they are irreversible.

❌ Incorrect wallet addresses entered by end users

If an end user:

  • Enters an incorrect wallet address
  • Selects the wrong network (e.g. ERC20 vs TRC20)
  • Sends funds to an unintended third-party wallet

3PAY is not liable for the loss of funds.

Blockchain transactions are final once confirmed.

Reversals (important clarification)

3PAY does not support blockchain reversals.

  • Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed
  • There is no “undo” once a transaction is confirmed
  • Any recovery is strictly limited to funds that remain under 3PAY control

If funds are no longer controlled by 3PAY, recovery is not possible.

Limits & thresholds

Limits and thresholds are applied to reduce risk and ensure operational stability.

Transaction limits

Limits may apply to:

  • Pay-in amounts
  • Withdrawal amounts
  • Auto-withdrawal thresholds
  • Auto-payout thresholds

Limits may vary based on:

  • Merchant configuration
  • Risk profile
  • Compliance requirements
  • Transaction history

Auto-withdrawal thresholds

Auto-withdrawals may be configured with thresholds such as:

  • Withdrawals below a defined amount processed automatically
  • Withdrawals above the threshold require manual review

Example:

  • Auto-withdrawals enabled for withdrawals under $500 USDT
  • Withdrawals above $500 require approval

Auto-payout thresholds

Auto-payouts are balance-based and may include:

  • A fixed destination wallet
  • A defined balance threshold

Example:

  • Auto-payout triggered when balance reaches $10,000 USDT
  • Funds sent automatically to the merchant’s treasury wallet

Merchant responsibility

Merchants are responsible for:

  • Displaying correct wallet addresses to end users
  • Ensuring correct network selection
  • Educating users about irreversible blockchain transactions
  • Implementing confirmation and validation checks

3PAY provides infrastructure but does not assume liability for user input errors.

Sandbox vs live behavior

  • Sandbox refunds are simulated only
  • Sandbox balances do not represent real funds
  • Refund and reversal behavior mirrors live limitations

Sandbox testing does not guarantee recoverability in production.
